Empowering Young Minds: EWAD UK’s Back-to-School Project in Ebonyi State (2024-mid 2025 Update)

The EWAD UK Back-to-School Project continues to make a significant impact on education in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. As we progress through 2025, we take a moment to reflect on the project’s recent achievements and the continued efforts to support young learners by providing essential school supplies.

Making a Difference: Recent School Bag Distributions (2024-2025)

Over the past two years, EWAD UK has continued its commitment to educational empowerment by distributing school bags and notebooks to students in selected schools across Ebonyi State. This initiative is aimed at reducing the financial burden on families and equipping children with the necessary tools to succeed in their academic journeys.

Memorable Presentation Events

Here are some of the key distribution events held recently:

February 2023: Our dedicated member, Modesta Chukwu-Oni, presented school bags and notebooks to students at Umuobuna/Uhuaba Model Primary School. Demonstrating their commitment to inclusiveness, the school made a thoughtful decision to stretch the donation as far as possible to benefit the maximum number of students.

October 2024: Another remarkable presentation took place at Central School Uburu Ohozara, Ebonyi State, where our Chair Stella Obasi handed over school bags and notebooks to students. The heartfelt response from the school community highlighted the importance of these donations in motivating students and enhancing their readiness for the school year.

Impact and Community Engagement

Providing school supplies may seem like a small gesture, but the ripple effect is far-reaching. For students in rural communities, having basic educational materials not only boosts morale but also encourages regular attendance and active participation in class. Teachers noted that the excitement around new school supplies often translates into renewed enthusiasm for learning.

Through thoughtful selection processes, EWAD UK ensures that no school is left out in the long run. By rotating beneficiary schools and involving community members in decision-making, the project maintains fairness and transparency while maximizing its positive impact.

The commitment to education doesn’t stop here. As we move forward, EWAD UK is dedicated to continuing the Back-to-School Project and expanding its reach to even more schools across Ebonyi State. By prioritizing educational equity, we aim to create lasting change in the lives of children and their communities.
